e-mail. If you were to measure footing water and household water during a rain
event and also during a time of day when the household use is very low,
naturally most of the water will be from the footings, even though the amount
and rate of flow is low. Thus large percentage numbers could be flashed without
qualification.
A. Peak flows during
rain events drive the design of sanitary sewer systems, and high peak flow can
overload the system and cause basement backups and sanitary sewer overflows
(SSOs). One objective of the SSWWEP is to identify alternatives to address
basement backups and SSOs. For this reason, it is critically important that we
understand the impact of FDDs on peak flows and the volumes generated from rain
events. These will be the focus of the FDD evaluation phase of the SSWWEP.
