Q. I would assume that the City and your resources are looking into
Storage Projects in SE Michigan and elsewhere. In quick look at www.dwsd.org there seems to be a
predominance of Retention Basin projects ongoing in the area. A quick look will
not reveal much on the highly unpopular sump pumps.
Q. Will
the City and their Consultants provide data on every sanitary treatment on the
high priority pollution reduction goals on the Huron River. This data should
include which communities have accepted or rejected FDDs and which communities
control peak flow emergencies with Sanitary Storage.
A. This is exactly the kind of work that OHM and
the “Best Practices” subcommittee of the SSWWEP CAC will be doing. OHM has provided the Best Practices subcommittee with a report of a dozen or so different communities and their approaches to a similar challenge.
