Q. How does the Developer
Offset Mitigation Program work? Are the disconnections mandatory?
The purpose of the Developer Offset Mitigation Program is to reduce
the risk of wet weather impacts to the sanitary sewer system as a result of the
development. Any new development that will add flow to the sanitary sewer is
required to remove other sources of flow from the system (120% of the amount
they are adding). This is most commonly done by footing drain disconnections.
This flow removal must be completed before the development can be occupied.
