Q. [73] Existing FDDs include a
plastic lid or cover that is "sealed" with silicone caulk upon the
initial installation. This lid must be
removed to perform some of the "Operations
and Maintenance Instructions" provided to the Homeowner, as well as the
need to clean out the sludge mentioned in Questions 71 and 72. The same lid is removed if the pump needs to
be replaced. What assurance can the City
provide that: a. Proper Radon infiltration protection can be maintained? b. Airborne contaminants and odor do not
enter the home. c. (Per Question 19, that potential Sanitary sewer back ups
from nearby sanitary floor drains, do not get discharged to Storm system via
the FDD sump pump?
