1.61 -C- SSWWE and Upper Malletts public meetings are meeting within a week of each other; how can the City maximize citizen involvement for both?

Q. 1.61 The Upper Mallet CAC has announced a Public Meeting for January 22, 2014. The SSWWE CAC has schedule a Public Meeting for January 16, 2014. It is assumed that participation at both meetings will be negatively impacted due to the close date proximity of both meetings. Is it intention of the City to maximize citizen participation and involvement for both of these meetings? What measures will be taken to accomplish this? 

A. While the City's Tree Town Log and the Ann Arbor Chronicle do show a Malletts Creek Coordinating Committee meeting on January 8, 2014, there's no indication on either of these sources or on the Upper Malletts project website of a Public Meeting scheduled for January 22, 2014.

The final public meeting for the Upper Malletts Stormwater Conveyance Study has been postponed due to a citizen request.  I will send a revised ‘save the date’ announcement once I have a venue booked. I can’t book Lawton until school reopens. Thank you for your patience.

Dear Upper Malletts Residents,

As you may remember, there is a board overseeing the work of several projects going on in Ann Arbor. See attached diagram. Due to substantive comments from that group, I am delaying the posting of the final draft until mid January. I believe it will result in a more comprehensive report that better addresses their comments and questions.

Unless there is significant objection, I’ll keep the public meeting date of January 22, as discussed in my email of last week (below). I’ll have the final draft out at least one week before the public meeting. It’s  the same timeframe we had for the draft and that seemed to work fine.  

Also as I mentioned below, some work will be done to minimize clogging of the inlet behind Wiltshire Court (leaves and brush). The contractor will be out in late December or early January to finish replacing that grate. I will be adding a section to the final report that details this work and any benefit that may be expected along Wiltshire.
