Estimate the total cost for a FDD under the (currently suspended) FDD program.

Category: Category 2 - about potential recommendations

We have seen pieces for the cost information for a typical FDD installation. To evaluate this option going forward, we should get an estimate of the  "all in" present value of the cost to perform an individual FDD. This would include contractor cost, city costs, the installation related costs, average maintenance and repair/replacement costs going forward, and average remediation and cleaning costs associated with a pump failure (multiplied by failure rate).
We will need this if we are considering further FDD as a possible recommendation.
Thanks
Joe

Please also note that FEDERAL money WAS used for some of this related program. Ask the city about the State Revolving Fund.

When we do not get the answer, as has been the modis to date..... I will send a link to where you can do your own homework .... If you want to see it now... let me know.

A: These costs will be included in your review and consideration of alternatives.

These costs are known.  Much of what has been done already with FDDs has been based on a cost estimation.  It is a working number.  Could we please be given that cost estimation and its basis, or breakdown?  The year it was made, and any adjustments if it was ever adjusted?  City, Lori, I understand that it is scheduled to be provided to us at a later date, but since it already exists, please provide it?  This information impacts our thoughts about redressing the present state as well as our consideration of alternatives.  Thanks.

Based on the total costs of the FDD program to date and the number of FDDs performed, it is estimated that the total cost per FDD would be $9,000 to $11,000 per installation. This would not include annual maintenance costs after installation, or cleanup costs if a sump pump should fail. Annual costs for maintenance, replacement costs, and costs of unnecessary treatment of groundwater at the treatment plant will be estimated in the near future as part of the alternatives analysis.
