Manhole covers.... the sequel

Attached find a "cut sheet" on the gasketed manhole cover that would help prevent I/I from the sanitary sewers.

Why can't we include the installation of these in our final recommendation?  
These should at least be installed in low lying areas, in all targeted neighborhoods, and at manholes affected by new road construction.

What is the cost per each location for the city's labor and material?
How many man hole covers are in each target neighborhood?

Lets focus on this while it is relevent topic as we watch the snow melt and drain down the pick holes

There may be good reason to include this in our final recommendation. It may be a very cost effective way to reduce treatment costs from I&I as well as provide additional margin, especially in the largest storms.

Could you research the cost for this as Frank has asked?   We would want to know the unit cost as well as the installation costs (labor etc). 

Also, is there any reason that sanitary sewer manhole covers might need to be ventilated? I'm wondering about sewer gas etc.

Gasketed manhole covers can be considered as part of the alternatives analysis. The potential of hydrogen sulfide gas accumulation is an issue that would need to be evaluated as part of this alternative.

Update from the [CITY]

A.  The City has begun to implement the gasketed manhole covers in the city.  In addition, additional funding is being programmed into the City’s Capital Improvement Program for the implementation of a citywide program for sealing lids and other manhole repairs/rehabilitation in flood prone and high risk areas. The potential of hydrogen sulfide gas accumulation is an issue that will need to be evaluated as part of the program.
