The City of Ann Arbor’s Stormwater Model Calibration and Analysis Project

I rec'd an email for this projects upcoming meetings.
Wondering if it was sent to all city residents who have a water bill?  Can we do the same thing?

Or maybe I recd it, because of being on other committees ??? Does anyone know?

Would be great to get the info out to everyone.  IF we can send an email too.  Otherwise very few will know about it.  A2 news.com, does report some of the meetings-- after the fact, but certainly nothing before hand.

Can we get Ryan Stanton to write an article to come out ABOUT upcoming meeting???  And would A2news.com put it on the "first page" ?

Thanks

Pat, you probably received it directly because you have been involved with the stormwater study in the past.

There is also press release, so it was probably sent to Ann Arbor News and other media outlets as well.  I will have Troy follow up with you on that, as he is the project manager for that project.

For everyone else, the press release for these projects is attached, as I suspect many of you will be interested in the results of the stormwater modeling project.

Hi Pat,

Thanks for the inquiry and suggestions. The message you received came from the City's GovDelivery system. GovDelivery is a service where people sign up to receive notifications of meetings and other City activity based on their interests; for example, FDD or stormwater.

In addition to people adding themselves to the email lists, the City also adds email notification for anyone who's inquired or attended the wet weather project meetings (SSWWE, Upper Malletts Creek or Stormwater Calibration.) There are about 800 email addresses on this list. Those people will receive a GovDelivery notice of the final Public Meeting, just as you did for the Stormwater Calibration meeting.

Here are some of the other outreach efforts:

  • Postcards are being sent to all ~2200 FDD properties
  • Emails to all FDD survey respondents who gave their email address (about 500)
  • Press release to the media and to Council
  • Posted as an event on Facebook

Hope this is helpful.

I found the City of A2 FB page and "liked it".  I see the Stormwater public meetings and also one about Pedestrian Safety, but not our meeting yet.

I just talked to our communication department, and it has now been posted on Facebook.
